For more than 30 years, The Swot Shop has helped high-potential students think critically, love the challenge and achieve meaningful academic growth. Led by university qualified, experienced teachers, our programs stretch learners beyond the school curriculum while keeping lessons engaging and fun. We group by ability, so every child practises at the right level and builds confidence fast.

On this page you’ll find past OC test papers released by the NSW Department of Education. They’re most useful as a final check in the lead-up to test day, once your child has built the skills the test assesses.

Before your child attempts these papers

These are past papers from the older, paper-based OC test. The current test is completed on computer and is quite different in style, so these papers won’t reflect what your child sees on test day. To experience the current format, try the Department’s online practice tests.

We recommend children only attempt practice papers in the weeks just before their test, once they’ve learned the skills and strategies it assesses. Attempted too early, before any preparation, they usually produce a disappointing result, and that can knock a child’s confidence. Belief in their own ability is one of the most important things a child takes into the exam room.

When you’re ready for targeted teaching and feedback, our OC Preparation Program turns practice into performance.

We’re here to help you find the right path for your child.
