Holiday Programs
Keep the momentum going with our holiday programs. Small classes led by expert teachers, building confidence, focus and critical thinking.
Some students have wonderful ideas but struggle to express them clearly. Others write competently but lack the sophistication, structure, and flair that elevate writing from average to exceptional.
Our Writing Workshop is designed to help students develop the skills, techniques, and confidence needed to become stronger, more effective writers.
Over five engaging sessions, students will learn how to organise their thoughts, strengthen their expression, and craft writing that is clear, compelling, and memorable.
The Writing Workshop will be requiring BYO devices as students will be practising their typing fluency.
Whether your child already enjoys writing or finds it challenging, this workshop provides practical strategies they can immediately apply at school and beyond.
This program is ideal for students who:
- Have strong ideas but struggle to express them effectively
- Need greater confidence in their writing
- Want to strengthen their vocabulary and written expression
- Enjoy writing and are seeking further extension
- Would benefit from expert guidance and structured feedback
Writing is more than a school skill. It is a lifelong tool for communication, critical thinking, and self-expression.
Throughout the workshop, students will develop their ability to:
✓ Generate and organise ideas effectively
✓ Improve vocabulary and sentence structure
✓ Develop persuasive and descriptive writing techniques
✓ Edit and refine their work with confidence
Students will participate in guided writing activities, collaborative discussions, and structured writing tasks while receiving expert instruction and feedback from experienced Swot Shop teachers.
Program Streams
Intermediate Writing Workshop – Years 3-4
Designed for students who are developing their writing confidence and seeking to build strong foundational skills.
Monday 13 July to Friday 17 July 2026
10:30am – 12:30pm each day
BYO devices for typing fluency
Location: 8 Columbia Way, Baulkham Hills
Fee: $300 per student
Advanced Writing Workshop – Years 5-6
Designed for students ready to refine their writing, strengthen their expression, and develop greater sophistication in their written communication.
Monday 13 July to Friday 17 July 2026
1:00pm – 3:00pm each day
BYO devices for typing fluency
Location: 8 Columbia Way, Baulkham Hills
Fee: $300 per student
This workshop is an extension of our previous holiday writing programs and features entirely new content.
There is no repetition and no prerequisite experience required. Students may enrol regardless of whether they have attended previous writing programs.
