Superb Writing from Talented Students

Our holiday writing programs provide students with the opportunity to have fun while practising and developing their writing skills.

Here are two of the brilliant examples of work by our students from those programs – one from Adam in Year 4 and the other from Cherie in Year 3.

Fox

By Adam, Year 4

Dogeussal wildanimal is this animal’s scientific name.

This creature is found usually around Australia and Africa

Eats mice, small dogs, and elephant skin.

Lives near trees, creeks and fields.

This creature is about the size of a common monkey and is stronger than three wolves! It is fierce enough to kill a lion within 10 seconds. These powerful animals appear to be big dogs, and they can also see better than a human. It usually stays at bushes to barge into other creatures. It runs in open places so it can get chunkier and fitter.

They usually have orange-red bodies with a layer of pearl white fur at their bottoms. The rarest one we have here is blue! They have ginormous tails that give them stamina. Don’t get too close to these creatures! They can bite you and please don’t put light in their faces. They are Nocturnals, so look at them and see if they are dog-like and are mostly orange. Then you will be able to identify them as a fox. They are known to be the best smeller in the whole wide world! They amaze every species of dog and weigh up to 83.3kg and are usually 112 centimetres long (including the tail). They have sharp teeth and sketchy claws on their paws. They are incredible, and we really want you to see them. Thanks, if you do!

Winter is the Best Season

I strongly agree that winter is the greatest season in the history of awesome seasons.

First of all, winter is the best because it has lots and lots of snow to play in. You get to make a lot of fantastic things like snowmen, snow angles and also to have energetic snowball fights! You can also have tons of fun in winter like snowball fights or even skiing.

Skiing is another reason why winter is the best season in the whole wide world! You get to race your family and friends in an epic race BUT DO BE CAREFUL NOT TO FALL! Because if you fall, you would be crying like it was the end of the world. But it is enjoyable for the whole family, so if you do like to ski, do consider winter as your favourite season!

Next, having family time. Having family time is very important for the whole family. If you happen to spend some time together, do notice that there is normally a lot of love, happiness and enjoyable times. Also, you might feel a little energentic or mostly exhausted after running around having fun!

Lastly, the biggest reason why winter is the best season is having fun! Having fun is the most important thing of all. Because if you just sit there all day you are going to freeze to death, so you might want to live instead of dying in the cold!

Also, having fun is very FUN. Why, you ask me? Well, having fun is fun because you have fun you do a lot of amazing activities to make it fun, right?

So, if you do all the above, you might want to consider winter as your favourite season. Snow, skiing, family time and having fun is really a big deal. Well, that’s why winter is my favourite season. IT IS THE BEST!
