Selective Condensed at The Swot Shop – what it is and how to enrol

The Selective Condensed program is a version of the Swot Shop Selective Exam Preparation program that enables students to get ready for the Selective exam over the course of two or three terms, depending on the start date.

The Swot Shop Selective Condensed program starts at the beginning of terms 3 and 4. Lessons are held twice a week for two hours.

The program finishes at the end of Term 1 when students are in Year 6, just in time for the external selective exam at the beginning of May.

Our Selective Preparation Program is structured to foster in-depth understanding and mastery over a wide array of topics, including writing, advanced reading comprehension, mathematical reasoning, and critical thinking skills.

Entry Requirements

Admission to this competitive program requires students to undertake an entry test that assesses their readiness to tackle the demanding nature of our selective classes. This means that students attend narrowly streamed classes with peers of a similar ability enabling teachers to cover topics at a high pace and in great depth.

Intake for the Selective Condensed Program

Year 5 students start our full Selective program in Term 2 of any year.

Selective Condensed program has entry times at the beginning of terms 3 and 4.
