These October holidays, The Swot Shop invites Year 2 – 7 students to join our Beginner Chess Masterclass – the perfect way to learn chess in a fun, interactive, and supportive environment whilst developing and practising higher level thinking skills.
Over three afternoons – Wednesday to Friday, 8 – 10 October 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm – students will:
- learn the rules, moves, and basic strategies of chess
- build focus, memory, and problem-solving skills
- play friendly games with classmates to strengthen their skills
No prior chess experience is needed – just curiosity and a willingness to learn! Students who have just discovered chess and are keen to learn more are also invited to join.
